Located inland from Shanklin, Godshill is a small village with plenty of tourist attractions. The village was named Godshill, because of the legend of the local church. The church was meant to be on flat ground, but every night the stones where moved to the top of the hill, hence Godshill.

The village has a shopping village called the Old Smithy, where there are a selection of gifts shops and a cafe.

The village is best known for its model village which is located in the shadow of the Godshill Church.
