Fort Victoria Country Park

Fort Victoria Country Park sits on the northwest coast of the Isle of Wight, nestled in peaceful woodland and overlooking the Solent. Once a Victorian coastal fort, the site now blends its rich military history with vibrant visitor attractions and natural beauty.

Explore the Reptilarium, where live reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates are showcased in naturalistic biome displays. Step into the Island Planetarium’s astrodome to journey through time and space with immersive shows and exhibitions. The H.M.S. Gladiator Exhibition brings to life a dramatic maritime tragedy from 1908, while the Imaginarium offers a creative space filled with local artwork and quirky gifts.

Nature lovers will enjoy the park’s extensive trails, where woodland paths wind through cliffside terrain to a wild, unspoiled shoreline—perfect for rock-pooling, fossil-hunting, or birdwatching. The historic casemates and gun emplacements provide glimpses into the fort’s past, and panoramic sea views look out to Hurst Castle.

With a café, gift shop, and year-round opening, Fort Victoria is a hidden gem—a place of discovery, history, and natural calm, ideal for families, walkers, and history enthusiasts alike.
