Monkey Haven

Set within lush, spacious enclosures, Monkey Haven provides a safe and stimulating home for a wide variety of primates, including monkeys and apes rescued from unsuitable homes, laboratories, or circuses. The sanctuary is designed to replicate natural habitats wherever possible, giving its residents space to climb, swing, forage, and interact—allowing visitors to observe natural behaviours up close.

Daily talks and guided tours offer a captivating insight into each animal’s story, the challenges they’ve faced, and the sanctuary’s ongoing conservation work. Children and adults alike are drawn into the personalities and antics of the primates, from cheeky tamarins to inquisitive capuchins and majestic macaques. Educational displays and interactive sessions help families learn about primate welfare, habitat preservation, and the importance of ethical treatment of animals worldwide.

The sanctuary’s tranquil surroundings provide a peaceful setting for exploration, with shaded paths, quiet seating areas, and plenty of spots to pause and take in the sights and sounds of the enclosures. Families can enjoy extended visits, spotting monkeys swinging high above, watching playful interactions, and learning about each primate’s unique character and backstory.

Monkey Haven also features a café serving light refreshments and a gift shop stocked with ethically sourced, primate-themed souvenirs, ensuring that every visit directly contributes to the care and wellbeing of the sanctuary’s residents.
