    Island Line Island Line, Esplanade, Ryde, UK Official Site Island Line is a railway service that connects the eastern part of the Isle of Wight with the mainland. It operates from Ryde Pier Head, where passengers can board the Wightlink Fastcat Service to Portsmouth Harbour. The line then stops at Ryde Esplanade, which serves the Hovercraft Terminal for crossings to Southsea. The next station is Ryde St John's, located near the town centre and bus station. The line then continues to Smallbrook Junction, where it intersects with the Isle of Wight Steam Railway, a heritage attraction that runs vintage trains on selected days. Passengers can transfer between the two services at this station when the steam railway is open. The line then passes through Brading, a historic town with a Roman villa and a medieval church. On the coastal side is the military battlements, which are still in good condition. There is also loads for families do at the park, with crazy golf and pitch and put course. For the adults there is a tennis court and a bowls green. There is also two cafes to choose from: A large café located in the park and a café located on the coastal path near Appley Beach. The park is easily accessed by car and foot, with entrances on the coastal path and a large car park
